Caritas is a Brazilian organization that promotes social action and working on human rights, food security and sustainable development in solidarity. Currently Caritas Brasileira has 176 Member organizations spread throughout the country and operates in 12 regional: Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina, Paraná, Sao Paulo, Minas Gerais, Espírito Santo, Norte II (Amapá and Pará), Maranhão, Piaui, Ceará, Nordeste II (Alagoas, Paraíba, Pernambuco and Rio Grande do Norte) e Nordeste III (Bahia and Sergipe).
