A Campanha Nacional pela Regularização do Território das Comunidades Tradicionais Pesqueiras está mobilizando pescadores e pescadoras do Brasil e até 2015 will raise over 1 million signatures for a bill.

Currently almost 70% national production comes from artisanal fishing, which has ensured food security and nutritional status of thousands of fishing communities in Brazil. Throughout history artisanal fishermen and fisherwomen have developed a series of knowledge, doings and flavors, established a very peculiar relationship with natural resources, ensuring the preservation of their traditional territories, as well as their physical reproduction, Social and Cultural.
Contrary, the Brazilian State has always disregarded the economic importance, social and cultural fishing. He is currently developing a series of policies, encouraging entrepreneurs and landowners, easing environmental legislation, a fim de promover a expansão do agro e hidronegócio. The MPP is proposing the implementation of the National Campaign for the Regularization of the Territory of Traditional Communities Pesqueiras, as an important strategy to involve the whole of society in this debate and at the same time build legal instruments, that combined with the strength and articulation of communities serve as a tool to fight for the preservation of the territory and to put the rights of artisanal fishermen and fisherwomen in Brazil.
CARAVANS STATE
To articulate and mobilize fishermen and fisherwomen were taken caravans to all regions of the country. Or paper two 50 militants who formed teams of caravans was to inform and mobilize over 200 fishing communities visited in 50 municipalities, leaving them proper fundamentals Campaign.

FISHING ON THE ARTISAN
Artisanal fishing is a way of life and deal with nature, through history and culture, with deep roots passed from generation to generation. More than a profession it is a work free, regime of self and collective, having knowledge of nature as main support base.
ON MPP
The Movement of Fishermen and Fisherwomen Handcrafted in Brazil was the need of the fishing communities, have a representation in front of the government and that the country could unite in a single voice. In 2009 to defend the fishing, claim demands and forward them public bodies, born MPP. The goal is to coordinate and organize the fishermen and fisherwomen to empower them of their rights to cultural identity, fishing, housing and to come and go, facing the challenges of staying in their territories and the failure of public policies. Hoje near 50 thousand fishermen and fisherwomen sea, the ponds and rivers throughout Brazil participate in the debate and actions of MPP.
