O Fundo Solidariedade National (FNS) supported 115 projects related to the Fraternity Campaign (CF) 2007, Fraternity and Amazon, view 23.468 families. The projects were approved by the organization's perspective, leadership training and community, groups, associations and movements; Fight for rights, public policy and sustainable development of the Amazon; initiatives and income generation, through solidarity economy.
Among the actions, stand out initiatives to combat sexual exploitation of children and adolescents, very common in the region; educational activities for indigenous peoples, migrants, Maroons, farmers / families as, fishermen and riverside; actions with indigenous women, peasant and coconut breakers in healthcare, solidarity economy and income generation. Popular projects planting or reforestation of the Amazon were also developed from fruit trees and medicinal plants, well as innovative small industrialization (fruit polpa, candies, preservation of fish, etc.) and other productive activities.
The FNS is the result of the collection of CF on Palm Sunday. Total Do arrecadado, 40% are sent to the NSF to support projects related to the theme of CF into force; 60% value are in dioceses and local communities, Diocesan Fundos administered Solidariedade hairs (FDS). Projects are approved by the Management Council – A working group of the National Conference of Bishops of Brazil (CNBB) -, that defines the allocation of resources FNS, oversees the administration and application of resources. The total collected until 30 December of last year – R$ 3.699.095,35, which includes the contribution of dioceses, individual donations and bank earnings – was intended to 115 projects the amount of R $ 2.597.433,71. CF 2008: Donations began on Palm Sunday
Throughout Brazil, no Palm Sunday (16/3), parishes and communities realized the Solidarity Gathering for CF this year, themed fraternity and Defense of Life. Parishes pass donations to dioceses, and forward these 40% collection of the FNS. The remainder is allocated to the Funds Diocesan Solidarity, support for local projects. The script for submitting projects for CF 2008 will be released in May, after the General Assembly CNBB.
Donations to the CF can be made throughout the year by the Federal Savings deposits, agency 2220, current count 000.009-0.
